Drawing with... Georges Seurat!

This week’s session of “Drawing with…” is dedicated to Seurat’s gorgeous studies on light, form and composition. In these drawings, the master of Divisionism, renders the human form as pure light, playing with contrast, tonal range, soft and hard margins but never clear, sharp outlines.

The shapes of the figures evoked in the drawings, at times suddenly materialize against a strong contrast with a dark background, in other places, the figures dissolve and hide in it.

These works, besides being beautiful, are also perfect to refine and expand our understanding of the light on forms. Join me, on Tuesday, November 23, from 6 to 8:30 PM, for another evening of artistic exploration and aesthetic appreciation.
