NYAA – Anatomy and Structure of The Head for Portraiture @ Zoom Class
Jan 28 @ 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM

The head and face are some of the most rewarding parts of the human figure for an artist to recreate. However, they can also be intimidating subjects because of their inherent complexities. This live online class with experienced anatomist Roberto Osti will teach you the fundamental elements of the structure and anatomy of the head. For any artist interested in mastering the portrait, this is the class to learn an anatomical foundation to build portraits upon. Students will draw alongside the instructor during class, learning volumes, proportions, anatomy, and the facial features.

Subjects will include: volumes, proportions and landmarks of the head; muscles of the head and neck; facial features and their correct positioning in the face; planes of the head and the effect of light on the forms of the head.

Zoom classes will be recorded and will be available to the students for one month after the end of the class to permit continued practice and review.
